🧵 Experiment with NextDNS and Adguard DNS!
2/ I reached my quota on NextDNS at the end of last month, due to me refreshing my Github pages and ironing out bugs with an iframe and embed scripts.
3/ So went looking for another alternative and stumbled across Adguard DNS, which although which has a free DNS service, the windows app to access it, is limited by a trial period and then requires payment. Still works free on Android through the 'Private DNS' option.
4/ So went looking for other alternatives and stumbled upon 'Portmaster' by safing.io! Pointed my DNS-over-HTTPS to adguards server using that. So I have the best of both services now. If I reach my quota on one, I can easily switch to the other.
5/ Using Bluesky Thread Composer by hugotions, to compose this thread! Relevant links will be provided in and additional post, as the composer doesn't process them (at least the last time I tried).
