Hi folks, I am the president of the Ruby Central board. I don’t have time to reply to posts individually, but I do want to make clear that recent changes to permissions in our open source projects were done in collaboration with the organization’s leadership and not by one person unilaterally 🧵 They are part of an effort to harden our supply chain security posture and will be followed by discussions as to how to develop a sustainable governance model going forward. The intention of these changes was not to shut out past maintainers but to protect Ruby Central and our role in the supply chain as we determine in collaboration now to move forward. Also, not for nothing, but the board is made up of volunteers trying their best and not some mysterious evil overlords. We felt this was in the best interest of the people who use our infrastructure, and we do want to work with the community on next steps.
