I totally agree, but feel this is much deeper than an Andy Burnham problem. This goes right back to the first 1972 UN Environment Conference where governments promised action on the them emerging ecological crisis, and then failed to take any of the action promised. 1/6

The 1992 Rio Earth Summit only happened, because no action had been taken on the 1972 Action Plan. This is how old this pattern of procrastination is. I am to my knowledge, the only person pointing out the unbroken 54 year history of governments failing to take any action on this crisis. 2/6 There is society wide denial about the disingenuous and deceitful attitude of our governments failure to take realistic action on the ecological crisis, which has been known about for well over 50 years. Governments promise action, make a few token and meaningless gestures, and do nothing. 3/6 Clearly this is to gaslight the public, who are concerned about this, that action is being taken or imminent, when it is not. Historical precedent is the best guide we have to possibly disingenuous attitudes of our governments. 4/6 Not once in the last 54 years has any major government in the world, ever taken any significant action, that'd stop the systematic destruction of the Earth's natural life support systems, which sustain us, and keep us alive. Why is there so much denial about this objective truth and reality? 5/6 Why won't anyone acknowledge the 100% refusal of governments to take any meaningful action on the climate and ecological action. Why am I the only person pointing this out? I suggest that governments aren't what they seem and are only really there to protect the industrial capitalist system! 6/6
