Is Farage's resignation and standing for re-election in Clacton, a ruse to avoid scrutiny by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards? I'm not quite sure how it works, but will the investigations into Farage's breaches of standards stop, if he resigns? theguardian.com 1/5

Farage says he is resigning but will stand in ‘people v establishment’ byelection – UK politics live

Farage has been the most protected politician by the establishment media there has ever been. There are so many scandals around him, like who paid for his constituency house in Clacton? The media has repeatedly failed to scrutinise the scandal around Farage. 2/5 The claim that he is persecuted by the establishment is a complete and utter lie. Farage made no less than 38 appearances on BBCQT from 2000, starting 24 years before he finally got elected as an MP. No other politician has received so much unexplained platforming, by the establishment media. 3/5 Without this repeated and inexplicable platforming of Farage by the establishment media, for nearly a quarter of a century before he actually became an MP, Farage would never have become an MP. He was the beneficiary of a being famous for being famous type phenomenon. 4/5 As I've explained before, Farage is a parasite on the Tory Press's propaganda campaign to push the public to right, with racist and xenophobic dog whistle stuff, and their anti-EU propaganda. Farage has simply come along and said, I'll actually do that stuff, parasitizing Tory Media propaganda. 5/5 @zackpolanski.bsky.social @georgemonbiot.bsky.social @owenjones.bsky.social @adambienkov.bsky.social
