The ultimate twist is that 'gender critical' activist-journalists, Deborah Cohen and Hannah Barnes, reported the study to the HRA themselves! The HRA was required to open an investigation because they’d received a report... which gave the Newsnight duo the shocking headline they desired.
Barnes and Cohen responded to the HRA report with an article on the BBC website - not by acknowledging their alarmism had been misplaced, but by insisting, with a link to a comment by a 'GC' transphobe in the manufactured BMJ comments section - that many had raised similar concerns. 💯 propaganda!

The net effect... BBC Newsnight, BBC News and BMJ pieces echoed each other. Lobbyists, trans-hostile news outlets and 'gender critical' transphobes pointed to this “body of evidence” to push policy shifts and close down essential NHS services. It was like money laundering, but for transphobia! Of course NONE of this was ever reported in the UK mainstream news media - which has become even more trans-hostile since these articles were published. The only publications reporting on this scandal are LGBT media or international platforms - Not read by politicians, judges, or policy makers!
