🧵 The House is already underway with its floor session. How difficult are people gonna be today? My guess is very. #akleg 📺: ktoo.org

House Floor Session

Currently, they're tied up on a contracting bill. The backers say that it doesn't have a cost. Republicans insist that there is, pointing to a last-minute fiscal note from the state. They say there's literally no other option but to spike the bill and launch a "full investigation."

I'm just hopping in here, but my guess is that the administration had a last-minute change of heart on the bill (not unusual once it gets through the process and Dunleavy goons take over for the career employees) and is trying to give the Republicans ammo to kill it. Rep. McCabe is PO'd about the fiscal notes. He insists that they're "weaponizing fiscal notes" to stop bills they don't like (which is literally what he's doing right now). "We cannot legislate if we don't know the exact costs of these." Gee, if only there were an elected executive.

And Republicans' objections to taking up the bill falls flat 22-18. It'll be taken up tomorrow.
