Danish planners had no illusion that the US military could be defeated but would make sure it had a high cost. The first steps had been initiated during 2025 with building of a European coalition involving France, Germany and the Nordic countries. 2/4
The military deployment was planned for 2026 but had to be escalated due to the US operation in Venezuela. Danish troops from the Army and Special Forces were deployed and demolition of airports and runways was prepared. Transport planes and combat aircraft were deployed. 3/4
