#Auspol polling update for the first Newpoll of 2026, which is another outlier at just 21% LNP support. Interesting times.
And trend ALP first preference support is now well below that at the 2025 election, and plunging past combined others (a mishmash of centre-left and far-righters). Interesting times.
Which makes the pollster-reported two party preferred support levels dubious at best, but for what it's worth, Labor Party support continues to fall, while the LNP's is rising. That's especially interesting, given that political punditry seems universally convinced that the opposite is happening.
I've been following Australian political polling for way too long. This is the strangest I've every seen.
